PRESS RELEASE: HOMECOMING DAY - October 25, 2025
WASHINGTON – Gallaudet University's Homecoming will be taking place on Saturday, October 25 at Hotchkiss Field on the beautiful Northeast D.C. campus. The food and information booths will open at 11:00 a.m. on Lincoln Circle, followed by the home football game versus Randolph-Macon College at 1:00 p.m on Hotchkiss Field. The Gallaudet Women's Volleyball team will be squaring up against conference rival St. Mary's College at 11:00 a.m. in the Field House. We are anticipating some gorgeous, mid-fall weather for the day itself, so please come out and enjoy it with us!
HOMECOMING DAY NOTES
GENERAL ADMISSION:
- The general admission rate for the event is $12.00, with a wristband issued at the gate in lieu of a ticket. Admissions will begin at 11:00 a.m.
- Kids 12 and under can come in for free.
- There will be a Will Call in effect for the Gallaudet football team; all admission stations will have a Will Call list and Will Call wristbands ready for all attendees named on the list. Randolph-Macon fans will need to pay for admission.
- Gallaudet's cheerleading team will also have their own Will Call list.
- ATMs can be found in the I. King Jordan Student Academic Building and at Benson Hall should you need to make a withdrawal.
- There will be three admission stations - A, B, and C. All three stations will have credit or debit card readers. Station A will have one cash box in operation.
- There will be a Women's Volleyball game at 11:00 a.m. in the Field House. The general admission rate for the game is $5.00, with a wristband issued at the desk in lieu of a ticket. Admissions will begin at 9:30 AM.
ARRIVAL AND PARKING:
- All parking garages and lots will be opened to the public on Saturday, except for a certain number of blocked-off rows of parking spaces.
- When you enter the campus, you will most likely be directed to the nearest available parking garage. There are four major parking garages on campus: the Field House parking garage, the 6th Street parking garage, the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) garage, and the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School for the Deaf (KDES) garage. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) will monitor the garages and will redirect incoming traffic to additional spaces around the campus when all four garages reach maximum capacity.
- A section of Lincoln Circle Street will be closed to all vehicles starting at 9:30 a.m. in order for Athletics Department personnel to secure the street and begin setting up for the event. The street will be reopened to all vehicles at 5:00 p.m.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
- 9:30 a.m.: Section of Lincoln Circle Street is closed to all traffic
- 11:00 a.m.: Food and Information Booths open, Admission begins
- 11:00 a.m.: Gallaudet Women's Volleyball game
- 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.: Class Reunion Parade
- 1:00 p.m.: Kickoff
- 4:00 p.m.: Game concludes
- 5:00 p.m.: Lincoln Circle Street reopens
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY:
- Admission Station A (the main admission gate) is the meeting point for any injured or ill attendee.
- An event staffer will escort the injured or ill attendee to the first aid booth.
- We are only able to provide basic first aid and bagged ice. In case of a serious medical emergency, please contact our Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 202-651-5555.
- Attendees with non-medical emergencies (such as a dead car battery or a flat tire) can reach DPS at the same number.
FAN CODE OF CONDUCT:
Fan Responsibilities:
- Fans shall display courtesy and respect to opposing players, coaches, spectators, and the officials.
- Good play and sportsmanship shall be applauded.
- Spectators shall respect the facility and all posted and announced rules and regulations.
- Represent yourself and the institution you represent in a responsible and respectful manner.
Unacceptable Fan Behaviors:
- Negative or heated verbal exchanges with players, coaches, officials, spectators, and event personnel.
- Intentionally damaging property at the institution where United East events are held.
- Use of profane language or obscene gestures.
- Inappropriate behavior deemed disruptive, flagrant or potentially hazardous to players, coaches, officials, spectators, and event personnel.
EVENT GUIDELINES:
- No smoking or tobacco products of any kind are allowed inside the event zone.
- No dogs or pets are allowed inside the event zone or any building (other than service animals).
- No artificial noisemakers are allowed (air horns, whistles, balloons, and so on).
- Please stay in the appropriate designated spaces for spectators - do not enter or step onto the athletic facilities or fields.
- Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted within the event zone and at the stadium; there will be a designated party zone for attendees who are 21 and over.
