Gallaudet honors seniors in final home game against Penn College

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team played its final home game of the 2025 season against Penn College of Technology on Saturday afternoon in a United East Conference matchup at Hotchkiss Field.

The Bison (1-11, 1-5 United East) fell to the Wildcats (8-5-2, 3-1-2 United East), 5-1. Both teams battled defensively in the first half, heading into halftime tied 1-1 before Penn College broke the game open with four goals in the second half.

Before the start of the game, the Gallaudet men's soccer program honored its senior class; Bode Aggas (West Henrietta, N.Y.), Mohamed Elsheikh (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), Matteo Giansanti (Rome, Italy), Troy Holcomb (Fremont, Calif.), Hammad Khan (Little Rock, Ark.), and Tristan Torbett (Asheville, N.C.)  as family and friends joined them on the field for Senior Day recognition.

Once play began, it was a senior who struck first. In the 25th minute, Giansanti scored his third goal of the season off a pass from Khan, giving the Bison an early 1-0 lead.

Penn College regrouped and answered in the 34th minute when Logan Pietrzak scored to tie the game at 1-1. Pietrzak went on to add two more goals in the second half as the Wildcats carried the momentum and closed out the match with four second-half goals.

GU first year goalie John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) recorded 13 saves in the loss.
