BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Gallaudet University football team lost to Bridgewater (Va.) College here Saturday afternoon, 73-13, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game at The Stadium at Jopson Athletic Center.

Andrae' Green (Washington, D.C.) returned a Bridgewater kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown at the 14:41 mark in the fourth quarter to score the second touchdown for the Bison on the day.
The 99-yard return is a career and program best record. Green's previous kickoff return long was 91 yards set on Oct. 14, 2023, at Vermont State University Castleton. This was Green's third kickoff return touchdown in his four-year career. Green finished the day with four kickoff returns for 143 yards which is an average of 35.75 yards per return.
Gallaudet (1-5, 1-4 ODAC) got on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter when sophomore quarterback
Dylan Officer (Fairfax, Va.) threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to first year
Darius Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.). The 10-play, 75-yard drive took nearly six minutes and cut Bridgewater's lead to 28-6.
Bridgewater (2-5, 2-3 ODAC) scored points on 10 of its first 11 possessions in the game. The Eagles rolled up 573 yards of offense which included 261 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Bridgewater's quarterback duo of Jaicere Bateman (13-for-15, 173 yards) and Samuel Dragovich (10-for-12, 136 yards) both threw one touchdown pass and the Eagles defense added an interception returned for a score in the second quarter.
The Eagles led 21-0 after the first quarter and took a 42-6 lead into halftime. GU was outscored 31-7 in the second half.
Gallaudet finished with 121 yards of offense (20 net yards rushing) and held the ball for 30 minutes and 24 seconds.
This was the 32nd meeting between the two programs and the first since 1987. Bridgewater holds a 26-5-1 overall record in a series that dates back to 1928.
The 73 points scored are the most GU has surrendered since it elevated the program back to NCAA Division III back in 2007. The 60-point loss is the largest since a 61-point setback at Husson University on Nov. 3, 2018, where the Bison fell 63-2.

GU returns home and will host No. 20 Randolph-Macon College (6-1, 5-0 ODAC) next Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. on Homecoming Weekend. The Yellow Jackets have won 30 consecutive ODAC games dating back to Sept. 25, 2021.
