PETERSBURG, Va. - Gallaudet University women's cross country ran at the Virginia State University Cross Country Challenge on a cool Friday afternoon at the VSU Randolph Farm.
Senior
Olivia Armstrong (Rotterdam, N.Y.) was the first Bison across the finish line of the 5K race in 24th place with a time of 26:45.92. Sophomore
Ashley Morales-Juan (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was close behind in 26th place (27:06.33) followed by first year
Jala Furdge (Brandon, Miss.) in 36th (31:31.19). The Bison trio did not receive a team score since they did not have five runners finish the race.
Virginia State University junior Rose Muturi won the 5K race in 19:07.21 as she finished first out of 41 runners. Virginia Commonwealth University won the meet with 22 team points as the Rams were followed by Virginia Union University in second (55 team points), Regent University in third (69), the host Virginia State in fourth (79) and Elizabeth City State University in fifth (141). The field featured a mix of runners from Division I, II and III programs.

Gallaudet will have a three-week break before the 2025 United East Conference Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. in Media, Pa., hosted by Penn St.-Brandywine.
