WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet men's swimming team competed in a non-conference double-dual meet against Goucher College and McDaniel College here Saturday in the Field House Pool.
The Bison landed one more home meet after a last-minute change in location from the Goucher pool to the Field House.
Gallaudet (0-11) fell short to both Goucher and McDaniel (5-8), with scores of 107-51 and 149-38, respectively. McDaniel claimed victory over both teams as the Green Terror defeated the Gophers, 127-60.
The Bison swam their hardest in their last regular-season meet before the Atlantic East Conference championships being held next month. Despite the loss, some of GU's eight swimmers were able to place on the podium. Various third-place finishes were noted throughout the meet from junior
Sethan Rolofson (Gardner, Kan.) in all three of his events. Rolofson earned the finishes swimming the 200-yard IM in 2:56.26, the 500-yard freestyle in 7:25.26, and while alongside 200-yard freestyle relay teammates junior
Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia), first year
Allen Davis (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), first year
Driss Oukake (Amsterdam, Netherlands) who finished in 2:09.10.
Multiple swimmers landed just under the podium, missing by only one place. Oukake swam for fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle relay (18:38.44), while Alghamdi placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:86.82). First year
Sean Berry (St. Augustine, Fla.) secured fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:32.95) and first year
Alex Wilding (Santa Fe, N.M.) placed fourth in the 200-yard IM (3:04.42).
McDaniel won nine of the 11 events, while Goucher won the other two.Â

GU will take the next three weeks to prepare for the 2025 Atlantic East Conference swimming championships that will be held in St. Mary's City, Md., from February 13-16. The first day of action begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
