WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — On a breezy and sunny Sunday morning, the Gallaudet University women's triathlon team made the trip south to Williamsburg, Va. to race in the Patriots Triathlon Festival meet, held at the Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, Va. The student-athletes competed in a sprint triathlon, consisting of a 750-meter swim, a 20k (12.4-mile) bike ride, and a 5k (3.1 miles) run.
The Bison made 55 points and finished 4th place in the college sprint of the triathlon event out of six schools, led by First-year triathlete
Kathe Wilken-Yoder (Ovideo, Fla.) who finished 14th out of 31 college student athletes with a time of 1:26:45.4. Gallaudet's next finisher was first-year
Crystal Salit (Boyds, Md.) in 21st place with a time of 1:40:00.4.
Delaware State University won the meet with 133 points while US Navy Academy finished in second place with 106 points followed by Roberts Wesleyan (79 team points).
