BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's triathlon team participated Saturday in the second annual Duquesne University Invitational at Brady's Run Park.

The Bison started five triathletes but only four finished so there was no team score for the buff and blue. Texas Christian University (TCU) won the competition with 21 points as they placed six triathletes in the top 10 spots.

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Sabrina Fleig won the draft-legal sprint distance race that featured a 750-meter swim, 12.4-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run. Fleig's time was one hour, two minutes and 56.20 seconds in a field of 66 participants that finished the race. The invitational featured several of the top collegiate triathlon programs in the country.

Gallaudet was led by Kathe Wilken-Yoder (Oviedo, Fla.) as she finished 56th overall with a time of 1:25:12.58.

First year Jewel Rocha (Austin, Texas) made her season debut and was the second Bison to finish in 64th place (1:46:50.24). Fellow teammate Ashley Corcoran (Broussard, La.) was close behind in 65th place (1:52:49.13).

GU's fourth and final finisher was Tiadra Vang (Kansas City, Kan.) in 66th place (2:12:59.42).

First year Danielle Fisher (Pittsburgh, Pa.) started but did not finish the race.
