Dear Gallaudet University Community,

Athletics is steadfastly committed to regularly evaluating its sports offerings, recognizing the importance of staying aligned with evolving needs and trends in our student body and sport team viability. It is with a heavy heart that a decision was made to close our baseball and women's soccer programs, effective immediately.

While this decision was extraordinarily difficult, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all the student-athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters who have been involved with our baseball and women's soccer programs over the years. Your dedication, passion, and hard work have been instrumental in shaping the athletic culture at Gallaudet University, and your contributions will always be remembered and valued.

We understand that this news may be disappointing to many within our community, especially to those directly impacted by the closure of these programs. Please know that this decision was made after thorough deliberation and with the best interests of the university and its student body in mind.

While we bid farewell to these programs, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing a diverse and inclusive athletic experience for all Gallaudet students. We will continue to support our remaining sports programs and will be making an announcement soon with new opportunities to enhance the Athletic program offerings on campus.
