WASHINGTON - Bison finished 3rd overall (5-2 regular season, 3-1 Playoffs) in the ECAC Rivals Division with the 3-0 sweep over New England Institute of Technology Tigers Valorant White. Both teams played for consolation match.
GU's esports Valorant team of
Rayston Fonseca (Frederick, Md.) and
Tilde Edington (Frederick, Md.), who are co-captains, led the team along with
Donovan Holmes (Valley Springs, Calif.),
Joe Cherichello (Austin, Texas) and
Ethan Guettler (Frederick, Md.) participated in the ECAC-Rivals Division Round of 16.
The first match played on Split was a stranglehold between both teams, with the match going into overtime. Bison were able to keep their composure and win the map 15-13 with Captain Fonseca's strong performance of 32/17 (kills and deaths) as Viper rounded by Holmes' 24/15 as Cypher.
The 2nd map played on Bind saw yet another strong performance from Bison superstar Fonseca going 23/12 once again as Viper with
Ethan Guettler going 20/14 teleporting all over the map as Yoru, winning it in our favor 13-9.
The 3rd and final map played on Icebox was concluded quickly with Bison going 13-6 with another staunch performance from Fonseca's 25/9 as Viper as bison's cornerstone.
