FREDERICK, Md. - The Gallaudet University men's swimming team lost 150-39 to Hood College here Friday in a non-conference meet in the Huntsinger Aquatics Center. The host Blazers (3-4) swept the Bison (0-4) in all 11 events.
Gallaudet used its eight swimmers to compete and earn team points in the road meet.
First year
Josh Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) completed the 100-yard freestyle in 1:20.37 to earn GU's only second-place finish of the meet.
Nevertheless, the team picked up third place in a school of events including first year
Allen Davis (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) in the 100-yard freestyle (1:20.81), just 0.56 behind Rodriguez.
Junior
Sethan Rolofson (Gardner, Kan.) raced for bronze in the 500-yard freestyle (7:32.49) as he outpaced teammate junior
Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) who finished fourth (7:47.06).
The 200-yard medley relay team of Davis, first year
Alex Wilding (Santa Fe, N.M.), Rolofson and Rodriguez, as the anchor, achieved third place in 2:30.68.
Other second runner-up finishers consisted of first year
Matteo Giansanti (Rome, Italy) in the 200-yard freestyle (2:42.17) and first year
Sean Berry (St. Augustine, Fla.) in both the 50-yard freestyle (29.92) and 100-yard backstroke (1:33.11). The team's final third-place swim came from the 200-yard freestyle relay team (2:08.30) of Alghamdi, first year
Driss Oukake, Giansanti and Berry.
BISON TRACKS
- Oukake was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (41.05) and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle
- Alghamdi was fourth in the 100-yard IM (1:19.06)
- Wilding was fifth in the 100-yard IM (1:24.52) and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:31.04)
- Rolofson was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:12.60)
- Giansanti was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:55.68)
- Davis was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (2:02.69)
- Rodriguez was fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (2:15.50)

GU will head south to St. Mary's City, Md., tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 9) for a 1 p.m. conference double-dual meet against St. Mary's College (Md.) and Marywood University.
