CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team made the a trip across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to take on Washington (Md.) College in a non-conference game here Saturday.
Gallaudet (2-4) held a lead in the first quarter before the Shorewomen went on a mini run to end the second quarter to take a 37-29 lead into halftime. Washington College (4-2) held onto that lead and increased it in the second half en route to a 61-49 win.
Gallaudet was led offensively by sophomore guard
Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) who finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, five steals, four assists and two blocks. Senior guard
Claire Ruiz-Tucker (Middletown, Md.) finished with 10 points and senior guard
Raj Guettler (Frederick, Md.) added seven points and seven rebounds. Senior guard
Crystal Salit (Boyds, Md.) scored nine points off the bench. Senior forward
Alexis Roberts (Newton, Miss.) led the team with eight boards and matched Lexow with two blocks.
Washington College was paced by Abby Meredith's 16 points while Kaitlyn Boggs tallied 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. Karry Keliher added nine points, passed out seven assists, made three steals and three blocks in the win.
