LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Gallaudet University men's swimming team began the 2024-25 season here at Randolph College in a tri-meet with the host WildCats and Hampden-Sydney College here Saturday.
Gallaudet (0-2) lost to Randolph, 194-21, and lost to Hampden-Sydney, 195-18.
The Bison had a quartet of swimmers compete in the meet. Gallaudet only swam in five events, all freestyle events. There were 14 events that took place in the meet.
GU started the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:37.72. The team consisted of first year
Alex Wilding (Santa Fe, N.M.),
Sean Berry (St. Augstine, Fla.), junior
Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) and first year
Allen Davis (Port St. Lucie, Fla.). The same group finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:07.11.
BISON TRACKS
- Alghamdi took fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (28.69), sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.42)
- Berry finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (3:04.37), seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:17.09)
- Wilding was sixth in the 50-yard backstroke (43.12), eighth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:21.81)
- Davis was sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (33.15), ninth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:22.51)
