WASHINGTON – It was a festive and meaningful evening in the Field House as the Gallaudet University women's volleyball program hosted its annual Dig Pink night on Padden Court.
On the court, the Bison took care of business with a 3-0 victory over Washington Adventist University, a National Association Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program. GU (19-4) won the match 25-13, 25-8, 25-14 over the Shock (5-9).
Gallaudet, the NCAA Division III leaders in service aces, finished the match with 15 aces. Junior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) led the way with six aces and 29 assists to go with six digs and four kills. Sophomore outside hitter

Junior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) tallied a match-high 13 digs and six kills as GU won its 11th straight match.
Washington Adventist was led by Samiah Gross, who finished with a team-high six kills and three digs in the loss.
Off the court, Gallaudet did its part to help raise money for the Side-Out Foundation, who started the Dig Pink initiative in 2004. Funds collected go towards Breast Cancer research and awareness. The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Earlier in the day, Side-Out Foundation Director of Systems Operations Alex Chan stopped by to talk with the Gallaudet Bison women's volleyball team to thank them for their support of Dig Pink and shared the history of the event. The Side-Out Foundation headquarters is nearby in Fairfax, Va.
