WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's swimming team concluded the regular-season schedule here Saturday in the Field House pool as the Bison hosted Goucher College and welcomed back McDaniel College for a second time this season.
Gallaudet (1-11) dropped both meet competitions to the visitors on Senior Day. The Bison lost 82-44 to Goucher and 141-23 to McDaniel. The Green Terror (3-8) defeated the Goucher Gophers, 128-46.
Prior to the meet, Gallaudet coach
Brian Bennett recognized his graduating seniors in
William Nichols (Beavercreek, Ohio) and
Skyler Officer (Skokie, Ill.).
GU only had swimmers in five of the 11 events. McDaniel won nine of the 11 events while Goucher posted two first-place victories.
Sophomore
Trent Mora (Austin, Texas) finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.11 seconds. Mora was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke as he touched the wall in 1:23.57.
Officer finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 35.85 seconds and was sixth in the 100 free (1:35.03).
Sophomore
Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:07.31) and 100-yard IM (1:19.00).
The Bison entered a team of
Santiago Paiva (Louisville, Colo.), Mora, Alghamdi and Officer into the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quartet finished second overall with a time of 4:39.99.

GU will next set its sights on the Atlantic East Conference championships in two weeks (Feb. 16-18) at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
