Perry's 25-point, 25-rebound game lifts Bison at Penn St.-Abington, 68-56

ABINGTON, Pa. – Senior forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) posted a career-high 25 rebounds here Wednesday night on the road for Gallaudet University women's basketball in a United East game at Penn St.-Abington.

Perry matched her 25-rebound game with 25 points to record her sixth double-double of the season as GU rolled to a 68-56 victory.

Gallaudet (9-6, 2-1 United East) jumped out to a quick lead, 6-0, in the opening minutes and later led 16-10 before the Nittany Lions (5-11, 1-2 United East) battled back to tie the game, twice, and eventually took a 21-19 lead after the first quarter.

The two teams played an even second quarter as GU outscored the Nittany Lions, 13-12, but trailed 33-32 at the half.

In the second half, GU scored 18 points in each quarter and outscored Penn St.-Abington, 36-23.

Perry led all-scorers in points and rebounds as GU had three players in double figures. First-year Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) scored 16 points and passed out six assists in her homecoming game to her hometown. Senior guard Rajena Guettler (Frederick, Md.) added 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals in the win.

Penn St.-Abington was led by Kylie Frey's 18 points off the bench (5 for 13 from 3-point range) in the loss.
