WASHINGTON - For nearly 34 minutes on a muggy Wednesday night the Gallaudet University men's soccer team kept the high-scoring Washington Adventist University team off the Hotchkiss Field scoreboard. The Bison defense stood tall and denied the Shock of several scoring opportunities but a flurry of goals sparked the visitors before the half.
Washington Adventist (5-1) scored five goals in a three-minute span and never looked back as the Shock ran the score up to win 12-0 over the Bison (0-3). The Shock had two players with four goals each and four with two or more. Aguer Dau netted three of his four goals in the first half where the Shock led 6-0 at the break.
In the second half, starting forward Federico Bushi scored four goals with his last mark coming in the 86th minute. Washington Adventist, a NAIA program, continued to pester the Bison goal until the final whistle as the Shock recorded their 40th shot with one second left on the clock.
GU junior goalie
Bode Aggas (West Henrietta, N.Y.) finished the game with a career-high 15 saves.
