LYNCHBURG, Va. - The 2023-24 men's swimming season got underway for Gallaudet University here Saturday as the Bison split a triple-dual meet held at Randolph College. The Bison defeated Greensboro College, 108-45, and lost, 191-43, to the host WildCats.
Gallaudet's five-person team crushed Greensboro's three-swimmer team but couldn't compete with Randolph's depth as the WildCats won all 14 events outright.Â
Sophomore
Sethan Rolofson (Gardner, Kan.) finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (14:03.66), third in the 200-yard IM (2:49.54) and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:16.54) while fellow sophomore
John'Ta Price (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (9:06.88).Â
First-year
William Nichols (Beavercreek, Ohio) took third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.68), 500-yard freestyle (9:21.09) and was close in the 50-yard backstroke in fifth (33.33). First-year
Josco Mast (Valdese, N.C.) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:53.45) and sophomore
Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) finished third in the 50-yard butterfly (43.65).
