GU falls to Lancaster Bible on Gold Rush night

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team dropped a 72-63 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest to Lancaster Bible College here on Wednesday night on "Gold Rush" night.

Gallaudet (2-13, 2-4 NEAC) scored the games first four points and led 7-3 just over four minutes into the game. Lancaster Bible (6-9, 4-2 NEAC) used a 12-1 run to take a 15-8 lead at the 11:52 mark. GU battled back to knot the game at 19 all with seven minutes left before halftime. 

The Chargers took a 40-27 lead into the locker room at intermission.

In the second half, LBC took its largest lead at 49-33 at the 14:22 mark off a Tyler Hilton 3-pointer. GU cut the Chargers' lead down to seven points, several times down the stretch, before it secured its nine-point win.

Senior guard Noah Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) scored 14 of his team-high 23 points in the first half. Senior center Steve Valencia-Biskupiak (Riverside, Calif.) added 14 points and six rebounds while junior guard Preston Kelly (Fishers, Ind.) added 10 points and five rebounds.

LBC had three players in double figures led by Tyler Norris, who made 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
