Box Score READING, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball ran out of time here Wednesday night and lost to Penn St.-Berks, 82-81, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division game.
Gallaudet (3-14, 3-6 NEAC) led comfortably for the majority of the first half and took a 43-37 lead into intermission. The Bison continued to hold the lead over Penn St.-Berks (2-15, 2-7 NEAC) in the second half until the Nittany Lions took the lead for good at the 5:55 mark.
Sophomore guard Preston Kelly (Fishers, Ind.) recorded a career best 31 points as he made 10 of 17 shots, including a perfect 6-for-6 from 3-point range. He added seven rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.
Junior guard Noah Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) added 14 points and five rebounds while junior center Steve Valencia-Biskupiak (Riverside, Calif.) and freshman guard Corey Smith (Miami, Fla.) added 10 points each.
Penn St.-Berks had four players in double figures led by forward Latrell Carroll's 21-point, 12-rebound game.
