WASHINGTON - As the final seconds ticked off the clock a wild celebration took place on the Gallaudet University sideline as the Bison stunned Lancaster Bible College with a 1-0 victory here Tuesday evening at Hotchkiss Field. The win is the first for GU against LBC since both squads joined the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). In fact, the last time the Bison defeated the Chargers came in a 2-1 overtime win in 2004.

Gallaudet (2-11, 2-5 NEAC) snaps a six-game losing streak where the Bison were outscored 12-2. Junior defender Kevin Fitzpatrick (Hopatcong, N.J.) scored his first career goal as a Bison with a high shot from the right side of the field that found the upper left corner of the goal in the 75th minute.

Lancaster Bible (6-7-2, 3-2-1 NEAC) controlled the majority of the game where it held an 18-6 edge in shots and 5-1 advantage in corner kicks but could not score a goal against the Bison defense.

Sophomore goalie Noah Means-Simonsen (Louisville, Ky.) recorded his first shutout of the season and the fifth for his career. Means-Simonsen made six saves while his defense came up with a team save and blocked several shots during the 90 minutes of play.

Senior forward Sean Huber (Orange, Calif.) led the Bison with three shots, one shot on goal.

The two teams were scoreless at the half.
