Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team was swept by The Catholic University of America here Wednesday night in the Field House by the score of 25-13, 25-10, 25-21.
Gallaudet (11-12) almost forced a fourth set as it closed the gap to 22-20 before Catholic (12-13) won three of the final four points to close out the match.
Senior outside hitter Darriyan Thomas (Vallejo, Calif.) led the Bison with seven kills, seven digs, one ace and one block assist. Junior Shua Clay (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) led the Bison defense with three blocks (one solo). Liberos Raelyn Fuechtmann (South St. Paul, Minn.) and sophomore Farrah Harmount (Union City, Calif.) each had 11 digs. Sophomore Adele Daniels (Austin, Texas), who is adjusting to the setting position, passed out 16 assists to go with six digs and one block assist.
Catholic was led by Brynn Cooley's 12 kills, nine digs and two service aces.

Gallaudet heads into a crucial North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) weekend as the Bison (3-2 NEAC) host Penn St.-Abington (8-11, 3-1 NEAC) on Friday night (Oct. 13) at 7 p.m. in a South Division match-up before playing two more conference matches on Saturday.
