Box Score 2 AURORA, N.Y. - The Gallaudet women's volleyball team started off their four-game North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) weekend with two straight set wins Saturday night against Wells College and Bryn Athyn College.
The Bison (5-7, 2-0 NEAC) defeated the host Express 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 and came back later in the evening to beat Bryn Athyn; 25-19, 25-9, 25-21.
Senior Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) lead the team with 19 kills and 29 digs on the day with an astounding 17 digs in the second match against Bryn Athyn. The Bison swept Wells in the three sets with only 32 kills and 51 digs. Junior Kate Fetzer (Noblesville, Ind.) held her ground with 14 of those 51 digs and had three services aces against the Express. Junior Danielle Morris (St. Louis, Mich.) had six kills and nine digs in the win.
In the match against Bryn Athyn, the Bison were able to play every player that suited up as they recorded 13 services aces and 51 digs. Junior setter TraciAnn Hoglind (Fishers, Ind.) helped the team out with 29 assists. Frowick led GU again in kills (12) and Morris was not far behind with 10 while Fetzer made 11 digs.
The Bison will be seen again in Aurora, N.Y., tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 21) at 10 a.m. against Morrisville State and later against SUNYIT at 2 p.m.
