Box Score 2 MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Gallaudet University dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) softball games on the road Saturday as the College of Saint Elizabeth won 10-2 in six innings and 5-4 in seven innings.
Gallaudet (13-21, 5-11 NEAC) started off strong, scoring two runs in the first inning but was unable to keep it up as St. Elizabeth (7-17, 3-11 NEAC) answered with three runs, ultimately scoring in four of the six innings. GU was limited to just two runs off of five hits in the first game. Sophomores Chelsea Lee (South Brunswick, N.J.) and Emily Forsberg (Riverside, Calif.) were the lone Bison to record a RBI in the game, while Lee and sophomore Anna Lynch (Falls Church, Va.) scored the two runs. Senior Caitlin Stevens (Glen Allen, Va.) blasted a triple in the sixth inning. Junior pitcher Montana Murphy (Simi Valley, Calif.) suffered the loss as she allowed 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, walked five and struck out six.
The Bison were able to keep the second game much more competitive through the entire game but fell by short one run, 5-4, given up late in the fifth inning. Lee led the Bison offense in the second game, scoring two runs and hit a double. Freshman Mariah Potter (Pinellas Park, Fla.) also had a strong performance, earning two RBI.
