Box Score 2 READING, Pa. – Gallaudet University dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) softball games on the road Saturday as Penn St.-Berks won 13-0 and 10-0 in two five-inning games at Hintz Athletic Field.
Gallaudet (13-19, 5-9 NEAC) was limited to just two hits in the first game and three hits in the second game. Senior Rachel Sweigart (Big Rock, Ill.) had a double in the fourth inning of the first game. GU surrendered 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and had a hard time recovering after that.
Penn St.-Berks (15-5, 8-0 NEAC) scored two or more runs in the first four innings of the second game as it tallied out 13 hits, three of which were extra-base hits. Julia Moscato had a two-run home run to begin the game in the bottom of the first.
Penn St.-Berks takes the season series with Gallaudet, 4-0. The Nittany Lions won 12-2 and 10-2 last Tuesday at the GU Softball Complex.
GU will next travel to College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday, April 19, for two conference games starting at 2 p.m.
