Box Score 2 WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University softball team allowed more runs than hits on Saturday, as the Bison were held scoreless in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) doubleheader as they lost 9-0, 11-0 in five innings to visiting College of St. Elizabeth.
Gallaudet (11-27, 1-17 NEAC South Division) recorded four hits in each game as the Bison have lost 12 straight games. Caitlin Stevens (Glen Allen, Va.) went 2-for-2 in the second game against the Screaming Eagles.
St. Elizabeth (13-15, 6-12 NEAC South) was patient at the plate in the second game as Gallaudet starting pitcher Anna Lynch (Falls Church, Va.) walked 13 batters, hit four batters, threw six wild pitches and allowed 10 runs (six earned) on one hit (a triple to start the game) in 3.2 innings. Three of four hits collected by the Screaming Eagles were extra-base hits.
In the first game, St. Elizabeth scored at least one run in every inning but the third and fifth. GU committed five errors in the field as four different Bison collected a hit. Freshman Kelsey Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) had the only extra-base hit for the Bison with a double. Sophomore Montana Murphy (Simi Valley, Calif.) took the loss as she allowed nine runs (five earned) on 10 hits, five walks and struck out four in seven innings.
The Bison will conclude their season tomorrow (Sunday, April 28) when they host Penn St.-Abington at noon and 2 p.m.
