READING, Pa. – The Gallaudet University
men's soccer team got shut out 4-0 by Penn St.-Berks on the road
Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game. The
Bison (1-15, 1-7 NEAC) surrendered two goals in each half to the
Lions (3-13-1, 1-6-1 NEAC). The win is the first for Penn St.-Berks
in conference play.
Penn St.-Berks had a balanced attack as it had four different
goal scorers. Casey Correa led the way with one goal and two
assists. The Lions also got goals from Logan Langseth, Tucker
Langseth and Seth Stoner.
The Lions outshot the Bison 21-10 (12-3 in the first half) as
the Bison had seven shots in the second half. Penn St.-Berks took
five corner kicks compared to the two by Gallaudet.
Junior goalie Poloko
Qobose (Gaborone, Botswana) made four saves, all in
the first half, while his counterpart Jonathan Jablonka made three
saves.
GU was led offensively by senior Zane
Noschese (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and freshman Abdul
Al-Makura (Bassa, Nigeria) who had three shots
apiece.
This is the 10th time this season the Bison have been shut out
and the loss extends Gallaudet's winless streak to seven.
Gallaudet remains on the road and will face Penn St.-Abington on
Sunday, October 24, as the NEAC game will begin at 3 p.m.
