Box Score 2 Washington,
DC.- The Bison split their non-conference
double-header versus PSU-Harrisburg, 10-4 1-15 respectively.
In the first contest of the day, it was a collective effort
on the offensive end for the Lady Bison. Junior Colleen Caverly led
the team offensively with 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Senior Keri Schmidt,
contributed 2 runs for Gallaudet as well as an RBI and
freshman Rosemary Goodman
scored 1 run and tallied 1 RBI. Seniors Kallie Williams and
Devin Quinn as
well as Sophomore Alicia Balzer each
had an RBI for the game. Williams pitched a solid 7 inning
game, striking out 3, and Gallaudet's defense only allowed Penn
State Harrisburg to score 4 runs. Gallaudet stayed ahead with
a final score of 10-4.
The second game was a different story, as the Nittany Lions
lit-up Bison pitching for 15 runs and their starting pitcher shut
down the hot bats from game 1 to win 15-1 in 5 innings.
Defensively, the Lady Bison attempted to switch things up a
bit by trying out 3 different pitchers. The game started with
sophomore Alicia Balzer, followed by Senior Kallie Williams, and
for a last hope to keep them in the game Paige Johnson.
Gallaudet improved on the defensive end, allowing fewer runs each
inning, but they were not able to match that performance on the
offensive side of the game. Offensively they struggled.
They managed to get a total of 6 hits, including freshman Megan George,
with an RBI, and Schmidt with the lone run of the game.
The Lady Bison are back in action on April 4th as they take on
CAC foe, Hood College (3-17, 0-4 CAC), with an away double header
that takes place at noon and 2pm.
