READING, PA. (1/6/07)—Sekoe White and Jon Mowl contributed
21 points apiece, combining for 42 of the Bison's 78 points
in dispatching the host Lions, whose total offensive output
garnered 66 points. The Bison opened strong, jumping ahead 12-0 off
four consecutive three-pointers before the Lions could answer back.
Junior Matt Eby paced White's team-leading boards with 6,
while center Onye Davis collected 10 points and 4 boards. Davis was
nearly flawless from the free-throw line, going 2-for-3, as was Jon
Mowl, adding 6 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Head Coach James
DeStefano imparted the following: "It was a good win, which gives
us momentum to build on for the rest of the season, as long as we
stay free of injuries and keep an eye on our foul trouble
[barometer]."
Statistically, the Bison shot 56% in the first half with 66% from
downtown (8-for-12), and the second half saw a slight reduction,
48%/60% for an overall 52% over the game (28-54). The Bison led by
as many as 24 points, holding a 62-38 lead in the 2nd half, after
securing a 7-point lead at halftime. Other Bison scoring
contributors were: Matt Eby, 8; Kazeem Babatunde, 6; Johnny Jackson
and Lance Gonzalez, 5 each; Chi Ming Pun, 2. The Bison continue
their road trip against Juniata on Monday, January 8th. The ball
goes up at 7:30 p.m.
