McKnight is an Athletic Trainer entering his 12th season working for the Gallaudet University football, women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, baseball, and track & field teams. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in September 2021.
McKnight graduated from Gallaudet University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and biology along with University honors. He then attended Shenandoah University where he received a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2013. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in health and human performance from Concordia University Chicago.
In the past 10 years, he traveled to work as an athletic trainer for USA's men's basketball team for several international competitions such as Deaflympic Games and World Championships in Brazil, Bulgaria and Poland. He is currently serving on the US Deaf Sports Federation Medical Commission.
McKnight is also an adjunct professor for biology and physical education departments where he teaches a couple of classes each semester since 2014, the classes include Human Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, and Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries.
McKnight is a member of several athletic training associations: National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association, and the District of Columbia Athletic Trainers' Association (DCATA). He also served on the board of the Association of Medical Professionals with Hearing Loss (AMPHL) from 2015-2017.
Shirley, Mass., native graduated from The Learning Center for the Deaf, now Marie Philip School, in Massachusetts in 2006.
McKnight is an avid disc golfer. He is one of the club advisors to the GU student disc golf club and participated in the campus disc golf course planning and designing in 2023.
McKnight currently resides in Riverdale, Md.
