Drolsbaugh surpasses 200 career strikeouts as GU's softball season ends

LANCASTER, Pa. - Gallaudet University junior pitcher Lacey Drolsbaugh (Lansdale, Pa.) recorded eight strikeouts in the second game of a United East doubleheader here Saturday at Lancaster Bible College to surpass 200 career strikeouts. The Bison dropped the twinbill to the Chargers by the scores of 19-4 in five innings and 7-0 in the second game.

Gallaudet finishes the 2025 season with a 5-29 overall record and 2-14 mark in conference play. The Bison went 0-6 in true away games. Lancaster Bible improves to 16-18 and 6-10 in United East play as the Chargers end the season on a five-game win streak. LBC just missed out on a United East postseason bid as the Chargers sit in 11th place and GU two spots back in 13th.

Game 1: Lancaster Bible 19, Gallaudet 4 (F/5)
Gallaudet scored a quick run in the top of the first inning as Drolsbaugh drew a walk and moved herself into scoring position before sophomore Andi Sisemore (Arlington, Texas) singled home Drolsbaugh from second base. The early 1-0 Bison lead did not last long as Lancaster Bible scored 12 runs in the bottom of the first.

GU starting pitcher Olivia Wascher (Noblesville, Ind.) couldn't get out of the first as she allowed 11 runs (five earned) on four hits, four walks, struck out one and hit one batter in two-thirds of an inning. Fellow first-year pitcher Kinsley Bond (Beulaville, N.C.) came on to complete the rest of the game.

The Bison got three runs back in the second inning. Drolsbaugh doubled home two runs and later scored on a LBC error to cut the Chargers lead to 12-4.

LBC answered with its own three-run frame in the bottom of the second and tacked on four additional runs in the third to win going away, 19-4, as the game ended after the Bison batted in the top of the fifth due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Game 2: Lancaster Bible 7, Gallaudet 0
Drolsbaugh got the start in the circle for game two and went to work against the Chargers offense. The righthander recorded a strikeout in five of the six innings pitched and had two strikeouts in three frames, including the first two innings of the game. Drolsbaugh and the Bison defense kept Lancaster Bible off the scoreboard until the fourth inning when the Chargers scored one run.

The game remained 1-0 in favor of the Chargers until the bottom of the sixth as LBC scored six times on four hits and were aided by one Bison error as the host broke open the game, 7-0.

GU only had three hits in the game as sophomore Hannah Puent (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the buff and blue with two hits, which includes a double, and Drolsbaugh led-off with a single in the first inning to begin the game.

Drolsbaugh finishes the 2025 season with 100 strikeouts in 105.1 innings pitched in 25 appearances (16 starts) and won four games and tallied 13 complete games including one shutout. In three seasons, the righty has 201 career strikeouts in 233 innings in 50 appearances (36 starts), won nine games and recorded 28 completes games.

Drolsbaugh is the most recent Bison to surpass 200 career strikeouts since Alyssa Barlow (2015-18) tallied 214 strikeouts in 334.1 innings pitched in 73 appearances (54 starts).
