FREDERICK, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's swimming team was outmatched here Friday at Hood College in a non-conference meet. The five Bison swimmers lost to the Blazers, 139-27, at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center as Hood (2-5) won all 11 events against Gallaudet (0-5).
GU started the meet with the 200-yard medley relay which consisted of first year
Thea Wrenn (Anchorage, Alaska), first year
Eliza Peterson (Snellville, Ga.), senior
Jaelynn King (Springfield, Pa.) and first year
Joy Watkins (Hockley, Texas). The Bison relay team finished in second with a time of 3:25.46.
Watkins secured another second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (40.67) with first-year teammate
Melany Salcedo Benavides (Woodbridge, Va.) behind her in third (49.05). Selcedo Benavides also finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:53.65). Peterson took in the 100-yard breaststroke (2:15.50). Wrenn placed third in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:45.52) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:26.43). King was third in the 500-yard freestyle (8:31.75) and fifth in the 100-yard IM (1:48.81).

GU will head south to St. Mary's City, Md., tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 9) for a 1 p.m. conference double-dual meet against St. Mary's College (Md.) and Marywood University.
