ROANOKE, Va. - The Gallaudet University women's swim team came up short on the road Saturday at Hollins University, 166-54.
The Bison had a nail-biting victory in the 50-yard freestyle claimed by sophomore Molly Headrick (Vista, Calif.) who touched the wall first with a time of 30.63 seconds to edge out Hollin's Amanda Cash (31.77). Headrick had another daringly close race in the 100-yard freestyle, as she fell two-tenths of a second short of first place with a time of 1:10.31. Hollin's Mia Bollerer took first in the 100 free (1:10.13).
First-year Brenna Koskie (Milton, Ontario) finished second in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 45.32 and placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:40.53).
