WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet women's swimming team dove back into the Field House pool today as the Bison hosted Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference meet. The visiting Mighty Macs won 121-41 over the Bison (1-7, 0-3 Atlantic East).
Sophomore
Amelia Oliver (Elkridge, Md.) won two events for the buff and blue while Immaculata (2-6, 1-2 Atlantic East) took the other nine events.
Oliver won the 50-yard freestyle event with a blazing time of 28.63 seconds to improve on a previous best time of 28.97. Later in the meet, Oliver won the 100-yard freestyle with another personal best time of 1:03.48. Oliver finished a full nine seconds before the second-place swimmer from Immaculata.
GU picked up several second-place finishes including its 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore

Molly Headrick (Vista, Calif.), Oliver and junior
Dakota Ronco (La Mesa, Calif.). The relay team touched the wall in 2:29.40 to begin the meet.
Ronco, who swam the anchor leg of the relay, popped out of the pool, and went back to the starting blocks to swim in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Ronco finished second with a time of 15:41.45 to improve on her previous best time of 15:42.07.
Headrick placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:28.66) and 200-yard freestyle (2:32.37). Moore finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (8:41.33).

Gallaudet will make the short trip over to Arlington, Va., tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 14) for another Atlantic East meet as the Bison swim against Marymount University (5-3, 2-0 Atlantic East).
