Bison women's swimming goes up against two strong programs in Stevenson and FDU-Florham

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's swimming team lost a double-dual meet here Saturday as Stevenson University defeated the Bison, 152-34, and FDU-Florham won 157-24 over the Bison. FDU-Florham (5-1) defeated Stevenson 129-74 to complete the meet as the Devils won 10 of the 11 events.

Gallaudet (0-6) finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of sophomore Amelia Oliver (Elkridge, Md.), freshman Katie Seffens (Castro Valley, Calif.), sophomore Samantha Moore (Tucson, Ariz.) and freshman Molly Headrick (Vista, Calif.) posted a time of 4:28.86.

Headrick placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:34.05) and 200-yard breaststroke (3:21.04).

Oliver finished sixth overall in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:54.07 and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.17).

Senior Jaelynn King (Springfield, Pa.) finished fifth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 8:02.71.

Stevenson's (8-3) lone first-place overall win came in the 200-yard backstroke when Mackayla Du touched the wall in 2:27.12.

Gallaudet is off next week for Fall Break and will next swim at Wilkes University (0-8) on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.
