ALLENTOWN, PA. – The Gallaudet University women's swimming and diving team lost a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) double-dual meet here Saturday on the campus of Cedar Crest College. The Bison (3-4) fell to Cedar Crest College, 139-59, and to Cazenovia College, 149-55.

Cazenovia College (4-7), the two-time defending NEAC champions, defeated Cedar Crest College (3-3-1) by 33 points, 119-86.

Gallaudet was led by freshman Jackie Perkins (Hampton, Va.), who finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.00 and fourth overall in the 100 individual medley (IM) with a time of 1:17.18. Perkins swam the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay which helped the Bison finish in third place (2:23.08).

Seniors Katie Bigelow (Flushing, Mich.) and Jessica Monroe (Newnan, Ga.) each captured an individual third-place finish. Bigelow was third in the 200 freestyle (2:33.31) while Monroe touched the wall in 1:09.27 in the 100 freestyle.

Perkins and Monroe joined seniors Meagan Thorp (Farmingville, N.Y.) and Paige-Cecily Ramos (New York, N.Y.) on the 200 medley relay where the Bison placed third.

The 400 freestyle relay team made up by sophomore Alyssa Hanbury (Orlando, Fla.), junior Rochelle Carty-Bauman (Brampton, Ontario), sophomore Eleven Mehner (Independence, Mo.) and Bigelow finished third with a time of 5:29.89.

BISON TRACKS

• Junior Jana Kiefer (Leander, Texas) finished fifth in the 1,000 freestyle (13:57.28), 500 freestyle (6:53.28) and 100 butterfly (1:22.51)
• Junior Faye Frez-Albrecht (Canton, Conn.) placed eighth in three events but set personal best times in the; 200 freestyle (2:52.49), 100 butterfly (2:00.25) and 100 breaststroke (1:49.23)
