TOWSON, Md. – The Gallaudet men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Goucher College on Saturday after hosting Marymount (Va.) University the night before. The men's team finished behind the Gophers, 118-70, and the women's team lost by nearly the same margin, 111-71.

Matthijs Wubbolts (Groningen, Netherlands) led the Bison in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.94) and 100 freestyle (53.61 seconds) followed by sophomore Seth Washington (Frederick, Md.) with a time of 1:02.74, who dropped his personal best by one second. Junior Abdiel Davila-Cruz (Orlando, Fla.) placed first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.48 seconds.

Gallaudet's men's and women's teams finished first in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The day was also full of personal best times set by both teams. Sophomore David Bruno (Patchogue, N.Y.) cut 10 seconds off his previous best time in the 200 freestyle  as he touched the wall in 2:58.20. Sophomore Miguel Angel Gutierrez (Lima, Peru) dropped 11 seconds from his 100 backstroke best (1:31.27), and senior Bernardo Toledo (Río Piedras, Puerto Rico) dropped an impressive 22 seconds from his 500 freestyle (7:33.14) time.

For the women's team, sophomore Morgane Vincent (Châtenay-Malabry, France) cut three seconds from her 200 individual medley time (3:19.29) and four seconds from her 100 freestyle (1:21.81) best. Senior Anna Pangracova (Litomerice, Czech Republic) cut four seconds from her 100 freestyle time (1:08.05).

The Bison swimming teams will host Bethany College on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. The meet will be Senior Day for the men's program.
