WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet
University women's swimming team won its season opener over
Frostburg State University 106-93 on Friday night before a packed
crowd at the Field House pool as part of Homecoming Weekend.
Senior Carlisle Robinson (Carmel, Ind.) led the
charge for the Bison as she won three events. Robinson was the
first to touch the wall in the 200 freestyle with a time of two
minutes and 14 seconds. She was also first in the 500 freestyle
with a time of 6:18. Her third and final first-place finish came in
the 100 butterfly (1:08). Fellow senior Misella
Tomita (Kahului, Hawaii) won two more events for the Buff
and Blue. Tomita was first in the 1,000 freestyle (13:30) and the
100 backstroke (1:17).
The Bison will next travel to St. Mary's City, Md., on
Saturday, November 6, to face former Capital Athletic Conference
(CAC) foe St. Mary's (Md.) College and Goucher College in a
double dual meet that will begin at 1 p.m.
