ROANOKE, Va. - The Gallaudet University swim
program dove back into the pool on Saturday afternoon to start the
New Year as the women's swim team completed a double dual meet
sweep on the road against Salem College and Hollins University. The
Bison defeated Salem 55-39 and edged the host Hollins, 54-41. The
two victories give Gallaudet three straight as the Bison sport a
3-5 overall record.
Junior Carlisle Robinson (Carmel, Ind.) and
freshman Tong Song (Beijing, China) won two
individual events apiece and were both part of the first-place
medley relay team for the Bison. Robinson was first in the 200
freestyle and 100 butterfly while Song took home top times in the
200 IM and 100 breaststroke. The Bison men's swim team swam
exhibition races at the meet.
GU will next be in action on Friday, January 22, as the Bison
make the short trip across town to Arlington, Va., to face Capital
Athletic Conference foe Marymount (Va.) University and Frostburg
State University in another double dual meet. The competition
begins for the men's and women's teams at 6 p.m.
