WASHINGTON - The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced it's 16th and final all-academic honorees and Gallaudet University had nine recipients.
GU's honorees include sophomore Austin Baker (Frederick, Md.), junior Tyler Conner (Welsh, La.), senior Jacob Hartman (Petersburg, W.Va.), junior Jacob Hundley (McKee, Ky.), junior Carter Johnson (McCall, Idaho), junior Jaylen Johnson (Redlands, Calif.), senior Cotis Martinez (Turlock, Calif.), senior John Scarboro (Austin, Texas) and senior Kylar Sicoli (Austin, Texas).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the extra-year Scarboro earned a fourth ECFC All-Academic honor (2021, '22, '23, '24). Martinez and Sicoli are making their third appearance on the ECFC All-Academic Team (2022, '23, '24). Conner, Hundley, C. Johnson, J. Johnson make their second straight appearance (2023, '24) and Hartman earned a second honor (2022, '24).
To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing, have participated a minimum of two years with the team and achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.3 or higher following the 2024 fall semester.
All four programs in the ECFC were represented on the 36-player team. Alfred State College and Dean College led the way with 10 honorees.
Gallaudet has had 19 players earn three ECFC All-Academic honors in their career they include; Cotis Martinez (2024), Kylar Sicoli (2024), Josh Buentiempo (2023), John Scarboro (2023), Austin Hicks (2022), Cas Mastropaolo (2022), Kobe Schroeder (2022), Austin Bates (2021), Joseph Mendis (2021), Marc Wallace Jr. (2021), Cress Fisher (2020), Matthew Cracraft (2019), Sean Fenton (2016), Sean Maiwald (2015), Gregg McConville (2014), Nico Santiago (2014), Adham Talaat (2013), Denton Mallas (2012) and Caleb Hinton (2011).

Gallaudet's ECFC all-academic honors now stands at 107 in 16 years.
For the sixth year in a row, the conference named an Academic Honor Roll. The ECFC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes that achieved a 3.0 cumulative or fall semester-based GPA or higher. Further, freshman and first-year transfer student-athletes are eligible for the recognition. In total, 91 student-athletes from all four member institutions earned ECFC Academic Honor Roll recognition. Gallaudet had 16 players land on the ECFC Academic Honor Roll, not including the nine on the ECFC all-academic team.
This is the last season of the ECFC as the conference is disbanding after 16 years (15 seasons).
