Gallaudet defeated Johnson Bible College tonight 74-55 to win
their 4th game of the season, eclipsing their 2007-08 total after
just seven games.
Four players scored in double figures tonight for Gallaudet led
by Amanda
Krieger with 23. Nukeitra Hayes added
14, Ursa
Rewolinski scored 11, and Brittainy Payne
contributed 10. Hayes also had 9 rebounds and 3 blocked
shots. Rewolinki added 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Payne led the team
with 10 rebounds.
As a team, Gallaudet did a good job reducing their turnovers,
finishing the game with just 18. This is excellent considering it
was the first game Gallaudet has played in over a week, due to
final exams. This is something Head Coach Kevin Cook mentioned in
his postgame remarks. "The game before you head into the
holiday break is sometimes a tough one to play. It always has been
and always will be."
Gallaudet is now 4-3 on the season and will next play in New
York on December 27. The long break coming up is what Coach Cook
considers the key to how Gallaudet performs the rest of the
year. "One of the keys to the rest of the season is what will
happen in the next ten days. It is tough to condition and
train on your own." The 4-3 start should give the Bison extra
incentive to stay in shape during the upcoming break.
