Dover, DE - The Wesley (8-9, 5-4 CAC) Women's Basketball team
stopped a three game skid with an 82-52 Capital Athletic Conference
win again traveling Gallaudet University (2-13, 0-10 CAC).
Their 8th win of the season eclipses last year's total of 7
wins.
Wesley jumped out to a 10 point 1st half lead as Colleen Thomas
paced the Wolverines with 11 points. Latasha Torres shot 50%
from behind the arc to add 9 points. The Bison were powered
by Nukeitra Hayes who was 6 for 11 fro the floor and grabbed 8
rebounds.
The Wolverines pulled away in the second half outscoring the
Bison 45-25. Thomas continued to lead the Wolverines finishing with
17 points and earning 6 rebounds. Michelle Mules found the
range from behind the arc adding 9 points for a game total
14. Cory Boyd dished out 10 assists and grabbed 5 steals.
For the Bison, Hayes led all scorers with 26 points and pulled down
19 rebounds. Brittainy Payne added 14 points.
The Bison take on Hood College on February 2 at 6 p.m. at Thomas
Johnson High School gym.
